You Need This Interview Tip

Good Morning Data Scientists!

My New York based client just had a final round interview for a DS role.

The one bit of advice I gave him?

Focus on results over methods.

When you’re talking to senior staff, they care most about the value you’ll bring.

Not the type of model you built.

So start with the high-level results e.g., ‘Generated £200k in annual savings’

And then focus on the methods e.g., ‘by building a model to identify fraudulent customers’.

It’s an easy hack to get more interviews and job offers.
