If you have a shared experience (e.g., degree you studied, where you studied, hobbies) find a way to bring it up in the interview.

This helps it feel like a conversation between friends.

And it helped me get offered my current role.

If you can’t find anything on LinkedIn, make sure you engage in small-talk at the start.

Because you’re not just tested on your skills.

You’re tested on what it would be like to work with you.

So don’t just focus on showing your data science skills.
