The 2 Ingredients To Job Offers

Good Morning Fellow Data Professional!

Applying for a new data job?

It feels logical to apply for as many jobs as possible.

Then you’ll maximise your chances of finding something.

Right?

But soon you find yourself applying for every job under the sun.

From jobs in healthcare, to finance and non-profit organisations.

Here’s the thing though.

There’s 2 sides to getting a job offer.

1) Showing you have the skills

2) Showing you’re keen

You’ve probably only focused on No.1.

And it’s hard to do No.2 when the companies you apply for are as different as each colour in a rainbow.

‘Albert, What should I do instead?’ I here you cry.

Well.

Niche down.

Choose one industry you’d most like to work in.

And ONLY apply for jobs in that industry.

This may seem scary - as you’ll barely apply for any jobs.

But it works.

Just ask my client Lucy.

She wanted a data science role in education (her 2 children were a huge motivation for this).

She had one particular company she wanted to work for - Twinkl.

Instead of spamming applications to 100s of different jobs, she only applied to Twinkl and one other role.

She went for quality over quantity of applications.

The result.

She got a Data Science Job at Twinkl!

2 months after she started applying.

Looking to get a data job this quickly?

My mentorship program helps with everything you need to get a Data Science Job.

Including making a plan for which industries to target.

I’m taking on 3 new clients (1 spot got filled on Tuesday).

BTW - this isn’t for you if you’re

  • not willing to work hard

  • not open to receiving feedback

  • getting a job isn’t your TOP priority

Still interested?

Until next time (and God Bless)

Albert
