Tailoring Your CV Doesn't Work
Good Morning Data Scientists,
My client Theo felt stuck in his job search before he worked with me.
He’d applied for 17 roles but gotten 0 interviews.
This all changed once we started working together.
He applied for 5 roles, got 2 interviews and one offer.
Before we worked together, he thought his applications were good.
He tailored his CV to the job spec and wrote cover letters.
But his fundamentals were off.
He got rejected often because he thought he wanted a technical role, which focused on implementing solutions.
But when we discussed
His skills
What he actually enjoys doing
What those jobs ACTUALLY consist of
He realised he preferred a less technical role, which focused more on talking to customers and designing the higher-level solutions.
Once we fixed this, getting an offer was easy.
That’s why the first step of my program isn’t “apply everywhere.”
It's targeting.
Getting crystal clear on which roles (and companies) you’re actually excited about.
Because if you skip that step, you risk spending months spraying out applications.
Only to land in a role that doesn’t fit.
So before easy-applying to every job on LinkedIn.
Get clear on the ONE role that actually excites you.
Struggling to do this by yourself and want some feedback?
I’ve got one spot left on my mentorship program, The Confident Data Scientist.
71% of my clients find a Data Science job within 3 months, with an average £19,200 annual pay-increase.

Happy Wednesday and God Bless,
Albert
