Should You Accept The Job Offer?

Good Morning Data Scientists,

My client told me last night he was likely getting offered a data science role he'd interviewed for.

But he wasn't sure if he should accept it - as there were other roles he was more excited about.

Here's the advice I gave him: You're allowed to accept an offer and keep looking for roles.

You're allowed to accept an offer and change your mind if you find something better.

It actually happened at my company recently.

A new data scientist almost joined but they pulled out last minute.

In fact, having another offer makes it easier to get more interviews and offers.

You can use it as leverage to speed up the interview process (and negotiate a higher salary).

So if you're offered a role you're unsure about?

I'd accept it, and keep looking for other roles in the background.
