How to Progress in Your Data Science Career

Do you think ‘personal projects’ should only be reserved for graduates trying to get into the field?

Think again.

Even if you’re already in a Data Science Job and want to progress in your carer, they’re a great way to learn new skills to stand out to future employers.

For example, you could whip up a quick project to learn something new, like

• RAG systems

• A/B testing

• Recommendation Systems

I’ve just built a recommendation system based on my journaling entries.

And beyond the skills you’ve learnt, they’re a great way to stand out if you’re looking to move into a different industry.

Because with GenAI, the main challenge isn’t writing the code.

And building a minimum viable product (MVP) you can share doesn’t even take long.

The hard bit is choosing the right project to work on.
